Spring 2018 - Outer Space

Throughout the spring term, Perform will be running free interactive drama workshops for Reception, Year 1 & Year 2.

Each workshop is led by an experienced DBS checked actor who plays the role of The Little Green Alien from Planet Saturn. They'll use story-telling, role-play, rhyme, song, and movement to take the children on a fascinating improvisation to Outer Space.

After completing an energetic astronaut training, the children will board a spaceship (that they’ll make themselves) and visit planets Venus, Mars, and Jupiter where they’ll experience and learn about the different physical environments before landing on the Moon and rescuing Planet Earth.

The workshops are 25-minutes long and each one is specially tailored to suit the ages and needs of the class.  As well as introducing the children to the joy of live improvised performance, the educational aims of the workshops are to:

  • Explore and learn about The Solar System, including planets, dwarf planets, Asteroids, Meteoroids & Comets.
  • Dance the Zero Gravity Groove Dance.
  • Sing The Moon Rock song.
  • Recite the Man in the Moon Tongue Twister

All sessions require a school hall or large classroom. The workshops are fun, lively and completely free.

Please note, we are now fully booked for the spring term. Find out more about our summer term workshops or email us to register your interest.

Very well planned and organised. The children loved it and had a fantastic time. It was the first thing they told their parents about at the end of the day!

Rhia was amazing! As a teacher I found her inspiring and my class loved the session. They were very engaged and her group control strategies were very effective. The subject matter was spot on as we are currently looking at 'castles.'
