Holiday Courses in Drama, Dance and Singing

Hear what children say about our holiday courses

Make the holidays even more fun with a Perform holiday course

You can banish the familiar school holiday cry of 'I'm bored' with our unique holiday courses for 4-10s.

Your child will work alongside an energetic team of theatre professionals combining original music, dance and improvisation into a magical mini-performance with colourful costumes and props on the last day.

There are different holiday workshops every school holiday including February half-term, Easter, Summer, October half-term and Christmas and they range in duration from three to five days. Recent themes have included Peter Pan, Narnia, The Jungle Book, Rapunzel, Hansel & Gretel, Mermaids & Pirates and The Wizard Of Oz.

What happens in a Perform holiday course?

Our team of professional singers, dancers and actors will spark the children's imaginations as they bring classic stories to life with lots of fun, games and laughter. They'll be with them every step of the way to inspire and encourage them to project their voices, learn energetic dance routines, sing catchy songs, and develop the Perform 4 Cs: ConfidenceConcentration,  Communication and Coordination.

At the end of every holiday course, the children will put on a show-stopping performance to delight family and friends complete with imaginative costumes and original songs. They'll also get a personalised certificate to celebrate everything they've achieved.

Our holiday courses deliver an absorbing and fun experience for children and we often hear that it was their favourite activity. But don't take our word for it - read what parents say.

Course structure

Over 3-5 days, activities are broadly divided into three parts, each focusing on a different performing arts discipline.

This includes a series of drama-based games and exercises to boost confidence such as focus work, character communication and vocal projection. The Producer will also progress to more detailed performance notes on areas such as character, physicality and accents. This session will really help to improve children’s attention at school as it develops concentration, imagination and speaking skills in a fun and imaginative way.

This starts with an energetic and fun group of exercises designed to inspire the imagination, develop coordination and reduce the chance of injury. The choreographer will then progress to technical work on physical skills and detailed stylistic notes. All the activities in this section focus on the children developing good coordination, balance and core stability as they grow. They'll also enjoy greater self-assurance, improved posture and confidence to participate in physical activities.

This aims to increase the flexibility of the vocal cords, develop basic musical reading and improve articulation and projection while maintaining good technique. The small groups allow most children to have solo or featured roles if they wish. Fun engaging topics and a humorous approach means this section is ideal for boosting children’s confidence, concentration and communication skills, all while establishing focus within the group and giving shy children a chance to shine.

Coming up at Perform

This October half term, Perform are taking the children on an action-packed mission to Superhero School where they'll help save the world! We'll then be rounding off the year with a magical trip to Narnia in December - it's the perfect festive treat.

We love Emily and Tom! They are great teachers; so enthusiastic, helpful, friendly and entertaining. Stephanie and Marianne had a great time. They are already talking about wanting to do it again next year!

– Mrs Adele Quinn

Both my girls loved singing the songs and flying around like a superhero. Maya mentioned that the more she got involved, the more confident she became and Ariya loved the energetic nature of the course, making her feel good!

– Ms Amisha Tanna

The course was excellent and Hendro loved it. He had the best time and was buzzing after the show.

– Ms Elzane Pretorius

Imogen loves her Perform sessions and they are really helping her gain confidence

– Sarah Burge

Amelie has had such an amazing week. We can see how much she enjoys Perform. We were delighted to be able to watch her in the final show and can see was loving every moment. It was lovely to see her confidence in front of a live audience!

– Ms Melanie Lejette

This was Hannah-Rose's first time doing the course and she had so much fun. The course offered everything she enjoys doing in one - singing, dancing, role playing and playing with friends.

– Mrs Pat Fraser

Raphael has not stopped talking about it! And was disappointed that it was only 3 days!

– Mrs Alex Da Costa

Fantastic - he loved it and has been very shy in front of small groups so this was a really big thing for him. We're already booking for the next one - thank you!

– Mrs Michelle Allen

My son had an absolutely brilliant time on the Secret Garden course. Catherine, the producer, was full of energy and enthusiasm and the teachers were brilliant. Also I was really impressed with the quality of the show after just one week!

– Mrs Angie Mulholland

Charlie loved the course - came out each day very happy and chatty about what he’d been up to and he was delighted about taking part in the play (and we loved watching him in it!). Lovely teachers, a great experience all round.

– Miss Nicola Bell
