Holiday Courses in Drama, Dance and Singing

Make the holidays even more fun with a Perform holiday course

You can banish the familiar school holiday cry of 'I'm bored' with our unique holiday courses for 4-10s.

Your child will work alongside an energetic team of theatre professionals combining original music, dance and improvisation into a magical mini-performance with colourful costumes and props on the last day.

There are different holiday workshops every school holiday including February half-term, Easter, Summer, October half-term and Christmas and they range in duration from three to five days. Recent themes have included Peter Pan, Narnia, The Jungle Book, Rapunzel, Hansel & Gretel, Mermaids & Pirates and The Wizard Of Oz.

What happens in a Perform holiday course?

Our team of professional singers, dancers and actors will spark the children's imaginations as they bring classic stories to life with lots of fun, games and laughter. They'll be with them every step of the way to inspire and encourage them to project their voices, learn energetic dance routines, sing catchy songs, and develop the Perform 4 Cs: ConfidenceConcentration,  Communication and Coordination.

At the end of every holiday course, the children will put on a show-stopping performance to delight family and friends complete with imaginative costumes and original songs. They'll also get a personalised certificate to celebrate everything they've achieved.

Our holiday courses deliver an absorbing and fun experience for children and we often hear that it was their favourite activity. But don't take our word for it - read what parents say.

Coming up at Perform

In February half term, it'll be time to join Hansel and Gretel for an adventure into the enchanted forest, making friends with the woodland creatures and discovering the delicious Gingerbread House along the way.

This Easter an adventure awaits in The Secret Garden. Watch your child discover the excitement of reviving a long abandoned garden as they embark on a thrilling adventure across the Yorkshire Moors exploring themes of friendship, determination and the joy of the natural world.

Course structure

Over 3-5 days, activities are broadly divided into three parts, each focusing on a different performing arts discipline.

This includes a series of drama-based games and exercises to boost confidence such as focus work, character communication and vocal projection. The Producer will also progress to more detailed performance notes on areas such as character, physicality and accents. This session will really help to improve children’s attention at school as it develops concentration, imagination and speaking skills in a fun and imaginative way.

This starts with an energetic and fun group of exercises designed to inspire the imagination, develop coordination and reduce the chance of injury. The choreographer will then progress to technical work on physical skills and detailed stylistic notes. All the activities in this section focus on the children developing good coordination, balance and core stability as they grow. They'll also enjoy greater self-assurance, improved posture and confidence to participate in physical activities.

This aims to increase the flexibility of the vocal cords, develop basic musical reading and improve articulation and projection while maintaining good technique. The small groups allow most children to have solo or featured roles if they wish. Fun engaging topics and a humorous approach means this section is ideal for boosting children’s confidence, concentration and communication skills, all while establishing focus within the group and giving shy children a chance to shine.

Max absolutely loved the sessions, he is always buzzing afterwards! Thank you so much !

– Mrs Lucy Hart

Keep up the great work - we all look forward to Perform sessions - so much so that our daughter is up with the lark begging to go each morning which is brilliant!

– Mrs Jane Hamilton

Katie did a super job. This was the first time my daughter had done a performance and Katie was good at accommodating her needs while encouraging her to do her best.

– Ms Grace Ainley

Both of my children absolutely loved it! Thanks so much for the great experience. Perform is professional, fun and a great chance for the kids to gain confidence :)

– Marisa

Juliette had a great time and was incredibly happy with the holiday camp over half term.

– Helene Rice

Very impressed with this holiday course. My daughter really enjoyed herself and the show at the end was excellent.

– Alison Marsh

I appreciated the hard work and enthusiasm of the teachers. Jim said it was enthralling and  thought the best bit was doing the show. Zach loved playing the dragon game. The dragons were really funny!

– Mrs Madeline West

Olivia absolutely loved the camp and was thrilled to be a wicked witch in the performance. Her front wobbly tooth fell out just one day before the show. Perfect timing for the witch image:)

– Mrs Kasia Bitel

My son really enjoyed it - his first comment afterward was, "Can we do the summer camp?"

– Ms S. Heinrich

This was the first time Olive had attended Perform and she didn't know anyone else there. However she was clearly made welcome and well looked after. From day one she came out happy and excited about her day. She had an amazing time and really enjoyed the experience. She's now really keen to start the weekly classes and we have signed up for a free taster. Thank you so much for giving her such a lovely start to the summer holidays.
