Autumn 2022 - Castles, Knights & Princesses

From September to December 2022, Perform For Schools is offering arts-based sessions to selected primary schools as part of their popular Drama4ALL project.

Each 25 minute workshop is led by an experienced actor/drama teacher appearing in role as The Lady of the Lake.

Using drama, dance and singing, they’ll take the children on a fantastical journey around the theme of Castles, Knights & Princesses. The children will go on a thrilling adventure to recover the Sword in the Stone from the wicked Morgan Le Fey. On the way, they’ll encounter Queen Guinevere and brave Sir Lancelot before making it back to The Round Table in time for the celebrations in Camelot.

These workshops will:

  • Support teaching around traditional tales and history topics such as Castles & Knights and Ancient Britain.
  • Complement any books you might be reading such as the Sword in the Stone, George & the Dragon, The Knight Who Wouldn't Fight or The Paperbag Princess.
  • Provide an excellent stimulus for a creative writing or art project as the children explore the world of fantasy.

Specially formulated for EYFS and KS1 children, these workshops are ideal as an introduction to the performing arts or as a fun treat during the school term. At the heart of each session, we aim to promote confidence, communication, concentration and coordination - our whole ethos here at Perform.

We can accommodate up to 10 sessions in one day, ideally in the school hall, and will spend 30 minutes with each class.

These workshops are extremely popular and are booked in a first come first served basis. To book your school's place simply complete our online form or call us on 0207 255 9134 and one of the team will be happy to help.

Rhia was amazing! As a teacher I found her inspiring and my class loved the session. They were very engaged and her group control strategies were very effective. The subject matter was spot on as we are currently looking at 'castles.'
