Spring 2018 - Twisted

Dive into Dickens with an action-packed hip hop and street dance session

Dance4ALL workshops are 30-minute sessions promoting fitness, dance and fun for children in Years 1–5.

From January to March 2018 the workshops will be based on Dickens' Oliver Twist.

The workshops are led by a DBS checked dance specialist. Hip-hopping through Dickensian London, children will explore the plot and characters through physical devising and choreography. We'll be putting a modern spin on the classic tale. Meet Oli T, a poor orphan slaving away in Mr Bumble’s cruel workhouse. With the simple words ‘Can I have some more?’ he finds himself cast out to the mean streets of Victorian London. Together with talented girl rapper, Charley, and the cheeky Artful D, Oli joins bad boy Fagin and his band of hip hop thieves. But disaster strikes when he is arrested for a crime he didn't commit. Can Oli dance his way out of trouble and will Mr. Brownlow help him find the happiness he deserves? At the end of the session, they'll finish up by learning part of a high-energy street dance routine - Twisted.

All sessions are formulated for the specific age-ranges of the classes.

Please note, we are now fully booked for the spring term. Email us if you would like to register your interest in our summer term workshops.

Rhia was amazing! As a teacher I found her inspiring and my class loved the session. They were very engaged and her group control strategies were very effective. The subject matter was spot on as we are currently looking at 'castles.'
