How to play

1. Set the challenge

Challenge the children to line up in order based on a chosen category, such as age, alphabetical order of first names, or height.

Each time the game is played, increase the level of difficulty:

  • In round 1, allow children to speak and move freely to organise themselves.
  • In round 2, allow speaking only, with no moving around once a position has been chosen.
  • In round 3, allow no speaking at all, requiring children to use gestures, eye contact, and problem-solving skills.

What it teaches

  • Logical thinking
  • Non-verbal communication
  • Listening and awareness
  • Decision-making

Principal's notes

Encourage children to stay calm and patient as the challenge increases. This game is excellent for highlighting different communication styles and works well as a progression activity.
