Perform Productions is dedicated to creating and producing exciting original theatre for children and their families. With over 30 years of experience working with children, founders Lucy Quick and Will Barnett have an instinctive understanding of what makes young audiences tick.
As the theatre-producing arm of Perform, a drama school founded by Lucy and Will with child development at its heart, their shows contain the same important messages learned in Perform's weekly drama, dance and singing classes for children ages 4-12.
Since 2022, Perform Productions' shows have graced stages in London, in the West End and beyond. In 2023, they took over Coram's Fields in Bloomsbury for Perform in the Park, London's first ever tailor-made Children's Theatre Festival with six weeks of musicals, including two original productions. The Perform Productions 2025/26 season saw three original musicals take to the West End stage at the iconic St Martin's Theatre: Magical Merlin, Midnight in the Toyshop and Mermaids and Pirates.
Looking ahead, Perform Productions are developing a brand-new musical based on Alice Allan's novel Sugar Sugar, with a workshop planned for 2027. This marks an exciting new chapter for Perform Productions as they venture into musical theatre for adults for the first time, bringing their flair for original storytelling, memorable music and engaging characters to a whole new audience.
At Perform Productions, we know what makes children laugh, what sparks their imaginations and what keeps them on the edge of their seats. Above all, we believe children are discerning audiences who deserve intelligent, imaginative theatre that never talks down to them.
Our shows are packed with wit, humour, energy and heart, combining clever storytelling with larger-than-life characters and irresistibly catchy songs that audiences are still humming long after the curtain falls. And, of course, we make sure there's plenty for the grown-ups to enjoy too.
Past Productions
Following its premiere at Perform in the Park, Mermaids & Pirates took over St Martin's Theatre in the West End from 21st-26th July 2026.
Mermaids & Pirates featured a shipload of unforgettable characters, including the Seasick Pirate, a crazy castaway and Isla, Queen of the Island.
Packed with calypso-infused songs, salsa-style choreography and plenty of comic surprises, this one-hour musical celebrated teamwork, courage and the magic of the Caribbean.

Midnight in the Toyshop enjoyed a successful run at St Martin's Theatre in the West End over the 2026 Easter holidays, delighting audiences of all ages. This much-loved musical invited children and their families into a magical toyshop where the toys sprang to life at the stroke of midnight.
Filled with catchy songs, dazzling dances and heart-warming storytelling, the production celebrated the joy of children playing with real toys, reminding us that technology cannot replace imagination or the magic of true friendship.

Magical Merlin returned to the West End in October 2025 for a run of spellbinding performances during the October half-term. Following overwhelming demand from audiences following the original show at the Fortune Theatre in 2022, we once again brought joy, laughter and adventure to families at the iconic St. Martin's Theatre.
This musical offered children and their families a chance to step into the enchanted world of Ancient Britain, where witches cast spells, dragons breathe fire, and a baby King Arthur must be protected at all costs.

Jungle Rumble
In February 2022, Jungle Rumble burst onto the stage of the Fortune Theatre for a week of roarsome half-term performances. Following the excitement from our 4-7s jungle theme in January, we brought the adventure to life with a sensational West End cast, dazzling young audiences and their families throughout the run from 14-20 February 2022.
During the show children and families journey into the heart of the jungle on a mission filled with courage, laughter and larger-than-life characters.

In summer 2022, Perform presented Perform in the Park, Central London's first-ever children's theatre festival in Coram's Fields, Bloomsbury.
Across six vibrant weeks from 22 July to 28 August 2022, four musicals lit up the festival stage, including two brand-new original productions. Among them was The Dream, Perform's bold reimagining of Shakespeare's A Midsummer Night's Dream, brought thrillingly up to date for young audiences aged 7-14.
Written and directed by Will Barnett, this star-studded modern reboot became one of the festival's standout hits.
