By gradually removing each cue, they learn to focus carefully, read non-verbal signals and react confidently to another person.
1. Stand together
Stand facing your child with enough space to move comfortably.
2. Introduce the phrase
Point to yourself and then to your child while saying:
"Me to you."
3. Pass it back
Ask your child to repeat the action by pointing to themselves and then back to you while saying:
"Me to you."
4. Build the pace
Continue passing the phrase back and forth, gradually getting a little faster.
5. Remove the words
Once your child feels confident, stop saying "Me to you" and pass the focus using only pointing.
6. Increase the challenge
Finally, remove the pointing too.
Try to pass the focus back and forth using eye contact alone.
This activity develops excellent ensemble awareness because children must stay fully connected to the whole group. Encourage calm concentration and remind children that strong eye contact can communicate just as clearly as words.
