Welcome to Perform Islington at St Mary's Community Centre - where our weekly workshops are not just about having fun. They're also about fostering vital life skills that will stay with your child forever.

We started running classes at St Mary's Community Centre in September 2022 and are currently here every week during term-time on Saturdays.

At Perform Islington, the Producer of the class is Niyi and the Teacher is Gabrielle. The session is looked after by our Area Partner, Jade.

The current term runs from 5th September to 12th December.

How to get here and parking:

Drive via Pentonville Road (A501) or City Road (A501) onto Upper Street (A1). St Mary's Community Centre is situated along Upper Street within the church grounds.

No visitor parking is available on site. Pay-and-display and resident permit parking are available on nearby side streets, controlled by Islington Council.

Angel and Highbury & Islington stations are within a 10-minute walk. Buses stop directly outside.

We spend a lot of time recruiting, training and evaluating our wonderful Area Partners, Producers and Teachers and the team at St Mary's Community Centre in Islington are no exception. As at all Perform schools, they have all been hand-picked for being enthusiastic, approachable and, of course, fantastic with children. I love producing classes with Perform. I love that I get to help build children's confidence and through my years at Perform, I've seen the benefit of our classes and have so many accounts from our parents. Outside of Perform, I love going to see theatre! My current favourite is Into The Woods!

TEACHER

Gabrielle

I've been teaching with Perform since 2026. I love working with children and seeing their self-belief and individuality grow week to week. Watching the children's confidence flourish is amazing to see. Outside of Perform, I enjoy going to the theatre to watch plays and musicals - my favourite musical is The Lion King!

AREA PARTNER

Jade

I trained in Musical Theatre at Midlands Academy Of Dance and Drama I started teaching at Perform back in 2006, and I still absolutely love it today! It's so rewarding to see every child flourish and grow in confidence term by term. I am also a Perform Area Partner, so every day brings a different job! Outside of Perform, you'll usually find me at a football pitch or scooter park watching my children play. I also enjoy reformer Pilates and trips to the theatre.
