At Perform Finsbury Park at Parkwood Primary School, our focus is not about teaching rigorous techniques, memorisation and repetition to produce a 'perfect performance'. Instead, we use drama-based games, exercises, songs and dances in an imaginative and fun way to help boost child development.

We started running classes at Parkwood Primary School in May 2014 and are currently here every week during term-time on Saturdays.

At Perform Finsbury Park, the Producer of the classes is Joy and the Teacher is Kate. The sessions are looked after by our Area Partner, Jade.

The current term runs from 5th September to 12th December.

How to get here and parking:

Along Seven Sisters Road, pass Finsbury Park (right side), heading towards the station, before you get to the petrol station, turn left onto Queens Drive and school is on left.

There is free on street parking on Saturdays. On weekdays, surrounding streets are subject to council controlled parking zones.

Finsbury Park and Manor House stations are both within a short walk, offering Underground and National Rail links. Buses also run frequently along Seven Sisters Road and Green Lanes.

We spend a lot of time recruiting, training and evaluating our wonderful Area Partners, Producers and Teachers and the team at Parkwood Primary School in Finsbury Park are no exception. As at all Perform schools, they have all been hand-picked for being enthusiastic, approachable and, of course, fantastic with children. My name is Joy and I have been a Teacher at Perform since 2021. I love watching so many of my students grow in confidence and I am always so moved to see their progress through the terms! Playing games and singing our very catchy songs with them is my favorite part of the job, although I have really enjoyed playing a sassy French ballerina in Midnight in the Toyshop too!

TEACHER

Kate

I trained at the Royal Welsh College of Music & Drama. I joined Perform in 2025 and absolutely love inspiring children through drama, dance and singing. It's so rewarding to watch their confidence grow each term and see them shine during Show Week. Outside of Perform, I love going to the theatre to watch plays and musicals. My current favourite musical is Carousel!

AREA PARTNER

Jade

I trained in Musical Theatre at Midlands Academy Of Dance and Drama I started teaching at Perform back in 2006, and I still absolutely love it today! It's so rewarding to see every child flourish and grow in confidence term by term. I am also a Perform Area Partner, so every day brings a different job! Outside of Perform, you'll usually find me at a football pitch or scooter park watching my children play. I also enjoy reformer Pilates and trips to the theatre.
