Welcome to Perform Upminster at The New Windmill Hall. Here in Upminster, we offer drama, dance and singing sessions with a unique focus on fun and child development. Come and try a free class so you can see the benefits for yourself.

We started running classes at The New Windmill Hall in January 2018 and are currently here every week during term-time on Mondays.

At Perform Upminster, the Producer of the classes is Rosa and the Teacher is Lisa. The sessions are looked after by our Area Partner, Gemma.

The current term runs from 7th September to 14th December with no sessions on 26th October (half-term).

How to get here and parking:

To reach the venue by car, approach via St Marys Lane from Upminster town centre or via Southend Arterial Road (A127) turning onto Hall Lane. Follow St Marys Lane heading west directly towards the hall.

Pay-and-display parking is available adjacent to the venue in the public car park. Additional parking options can also be found on nearby side streets.

Upminster Station is a ten-minute walk away. Local bus routes 248 and 370 stop right outside on St Marys Lane.

We spend a lot of time recruiting, training and evaluating our wonderful Area Partners, Producers and Teachers and the team at The New Windmill Hall in Upminster are no exception. As at all Perform schools, they have all been hand-picked for being enthusiastic, approachable and, of course, fantastic with children. As a result, you can be confident that your child is in the best of hands. Here are the details of the Creative Team at this venue:

Rosa

I've been a Teacher at Perform since 2025. I'm constantly inspired by the confidence and creativity the children develop throughout each term, and it's so rewarding to watch them grow both on and off the stage. Alongside teaching, I'm a professional actor, so I love bringing my passion for performance into every class. Outside of Perform, you'll usually find me reading a good book, exploring new places on walks, or heading to the theatre to see a musical!

TEACHER

Lisa

I have been teaching for Perform since 2017 after graduating from the American Musical Theatre Academy of London. I love helping children build their confidence, spark their creativity, and have lots of fun! My favourite part of each term is watching our young performers shine at their end of term shows, and seeing how much their confidence has grown. Outside of Perform, I enjoy spending time with my family, baking cakes and having disney movie marathons with my nieces and nephews!

AREA PARTNER

Gemma

I'm one of the Perform Area Partners. I'm so lucky to meet so many wonderful Perform children when I visit different classes and watching their confidence blossom throughout their time with us. My background is musical theatre and I have performed in many different shows in the West End and in theatres around the UK. During my time in Les Miserables, I got to sing at the European football final at Wembley and the 25th anniversary concert at the O2!
