At Perform Chelmsford at Christ Church URC Youth Hall, our focus is not about teaching rigorous techniques, memorisation and repetition to produce a 'perfect performance'. Instead, we use drama-based games, exercises, songs and dances in an imaginative and fun way to help boost child development.

We started running classes at Christ Church URC Youth Hall in April 2017 and are currently here every week during term-time on Mondays.

At Perform Chelmsford, the Producer of the classes is Oliver and the Teacher is Chloe. The schools are looked after by our Area Partner, Sophie.

How to get here and parking:

Drivers can reach the venue by taking Parkway (A1016/A1060) or Princes Road (A1114) in Chelmsford city centre, turning onto New London Road.

The church has a small car park accessible via Lower Anchor Street and Bradford Street.

Chelmsford railway station is a 15-minute walk away. Local bus routes stop regularly along New London Road right near the venue.

Oliver

Hi, I'm Oli! I've been with Perform since 2012 and work as an Area Partner, as well as running my own classes. Outside of Perform, I produce theatre shows and work in artist and live event management. Children have an incredible ability to find joy in the world around them, and that's one of the things I love most about my job. As an Area Partner, it's a privilege to support and develop our Teachers, helping even more children celebrate their individuality and discover what they're capable of.

TEACHER

Chloe

I've been part of the Perform team since 2017, combining my passion for performing with my love of teaching. I love helping children build confidence, creativity and self-expression through the magic of our classes. Outside of Perform, I sing in a vocal trio that I founded in 2014, performing across the UK and overseas. I love bringing my experience and passion for singing into every class to inspire the next generation of young performers.

AREA PARTNER

Sophie

I'm a Perform Teacher, Producer and Area Partner. I trained at the Bristol Old Vic Theatre School and alongside working for Perform have appeared in many television programmes for the BBC and Channel 4. Recently, I've been in several of the Perform shows in the West End! What I love about teaching for Perform is seeing how much children change during their time with us. It is a joy to see children having so much fun as they are learning!
