Marta Arteaga - Perform Swiss Cottage parent

Hello and welcome to Perform Swiss Cottage at Swiss Cottage Community Centre - a new kind of drama school that has child development at its very heart. At Perform, we use drama, dance and singing to build children's social skills and help them grow in confidence so they can fulfil their potential.

We started running classes at Swiss Cottage Community Centre in January 2016 and are currently here every week during term-time on Mondays.

At Perform Swiss Cottage, the Producer of the class is Kate and the Teacher is Kiarah. The session is looked after by our Area Partner, Gemma.

The current term runs from 7th September to 14th December with no sessions on 26th October (half-term).

Creative Team

We spend a lot of time recruiting, training and evaluating our wonderful Area Partners, Producers and Teachers and the team at Swiss Cottage Community Centre in Swiss Cottage are no exception. As at all Perform schools, they have all been hand-picked for being enthusiastic, approachable and, of course, fantastic with children. As a result, you can be confident that your child is in the best of hands. Here are the details of the Creative Team at this venue:

PRODUCER

Kate

I trained at the Royal Welsh College of Music & Drama. I joined Perform in 2025 and absolutely love inspiring children through drama, dance and singing. It's so rewarding to watch their confidence grow each term and see them shine during Show Week. Outside of Perform, I love going to the theatre to watch plays and musicals. My current favourite musical is Carousel!

TEACHER

Kiarah

I have been teaching at Perform since 2026. I love teaching and have been performing ever since I was little. Encouraging my students to learn about themselves and build their confidence through drama is a top priority; the results are always so rewarding to see. When I'm not at Perform, I enjoy singing and playing lots of instruments.

AREA PARTNER

Gemma

I'm one of the Perform Area Partners. I'm so lucky to meet so many wonderful Perform children when I visit different classes and watching their confidence blossom throughout their time with us. My background is musical theatre and I have performed in many different shows in the West End and in theatres around the UK. During my time in Les Miserables, I got to sing at the European football final at Wembley and the 25th anniversary concert at the O2!

Isabella always comes out of her Perform class a little more confident each time. She then spends the rest of the week looking forward to the next class. Aled always makes me smile as he’s so upbeat and happy! I can’t speak highly enough of Perform.

The teachers have been absolutely brilliant and responsive. I couldn’t ask for more from a class. It’s the best organised after school club my girls have been to and the teachers really care about the kids' development.
