Hello and welcome to Perform Stoke Newington at The Boiler House Community Space - a new kind of drama school that has child development at its very heart. At Perform, we use drama, dance and singing to build children's social skills and help them grow in confidence so they can fulfil their potential.

We started running classes at The Boiler House Community Space in September 2008 and are currently here every week during term-time on Fridays.

At Perform Stoke Newington, the Producer of the classes is Aled and the Teacher is Jamie. The sessions are looked after by our Area Partner, Gemma.

The current term runs from 4th September to 18th December with no sessions on 30th October (half-term).

How to get here and parking:

Drive via High Street Stoke Newington (A10) or Upper Clapton Road (A107) and turn onto Cazenove Road, where you will find George Downing Estate.

On-site parking is not available - please do not park within the estate. Pay-and-display parking bays are located on surrounding residential streets, subject to local controlled parking zone rules.

Stoke Newington Overground station is a short walk away. Local bus routes, including the 73, 106, and 253, stop nearby along High Street Stoke Newington.

Creative Team

We spend a lot of time recruiting, training and evaluating our wonderful Area Partners, Producers and Teachers and the team at The Boiler House Community Space in Stoke Newington are no exception. As at all Perform schools, they have all been hand-picked for being enthusiastic, approachable and, of course, fantastic with children. As a result, you can be confident that your child is in the best of hands. Here are the details of the Creative Team at this venue:

PRODUCER

Aled

I'm from South Wales originally; I came to London to train in musical theatre after receiving a scholarship to train at the Urdang Academy. I adore sharing my expertise with budding new actors and to work on confidence with my children in a fun, safe environment. Outside of Perform, I often sing in concerts with my Welsh language choir "Cor Llundain" and will beat anyone in Mario Kart!

TEACHER

Jamie

I have been a Producer at Perform since 2021 after graduating from The Musical Theatre Academy in London. I've also been working as a performer and vocalist since 2017! I love using drama and imaginative play to help develop children's confidence and communication skills - and seeing their progress each week is such a joy and privilege.

AREA PARTNER

Gemma

I'm one of the Perform Area Partners. I'm so lucky to meet so many wonderful Perform children when I visit different classes and watching their confidence blossom throughout their time with us. My background is musical theatre and I have performed in many different shows in the West End and in theatres around the UK. During my time in Les Miserables, I got to sing at the European football final at Wembley and the 25th anniversary concert at the O2!
