1. Choose a volunteer and decide on a film set or environment together
Ask one child to leave the room briefly with another teacher. While they are away, the remaining children choose a setting together, such as a jungle, classroom, playground or forest.
2. Bring the setting to life
Ask each child to become something that belongs in the chosen setting. When the volunteer returns, the children bring the scene to life using movement and sound.
3. Guess the setting
The volunteer watches carefully and tries to guess where the scene is set. Once they guess correctly, everyone freezes and shouts "Cut!"
4. Repeat the game
Choose a new volunteer and setting, giving the children another chance to become part of the scene.
Encourage children to think about both movement and sound when creating the environment. The more detailed the world becomes, the easier it is for the volunteer to understand the setting. This activity develops excellent ensemble and improvisation skills.
