Balance On

Child smilling in drama class

Balance On is a brilliant way to build coordination, balance and core strength.

Children develop focus and quick reactions while exploring creative movement and physical control.

This game works well as an energising activity that challenges both body and mind.

How to play

1. Warm-up

Ask the group: "What does it mean to balance?"

Then, to get everyone pumped up for the game, ask everyone to jog or walk around the room.

2. Start the game

Ask a child in the group to shout out a body part.

Everyone must freeze and balance on that part, such as "Left knee!" or "Right foot!"

3. Build difficulty

Add combinations, like "Left foot and right hand!"

Introduce travelling and balancing with instructions such as "Walk, balance, walk!"
