By sharing their ideas and explaining their choices, they practice kindness, empathy, creative thinking and confident communication.
1. Introduce the question
Ask your child to close their eyes and imagine they have £100.
2. Think quietly
Encourage them to think about the kindest thing they could do with the money.
3. Model an example
Share your own idea first.
For example:
"I would buy warm coats for people who need them."
4. Share ideas
Ask your child what they would do with the money and encourage them to explain why.
5. Ask follow-up questions
Help your child develop their answer by asking questions such as:
6. Keep the conversation going
Think of another kind way the money could be used and compare your different ideas.
Children often come up with wonderfully thoughtful and imaginative ideas during this activity. Encourage them to explain why their idea would help someone. The exercise creates excellent opportunities for discussion about generosity, kindness, and caring for others.
