Rozina Ali - Perform Kensington parent

At Perform Kensington at Kensington URC, our focus is not about teaching rigorous techniques, memorisation and repetition to produce a 'perfect performance'. Instead, we use drama-based games, exercises, songs and dances in an imaginative and fun way to help boost child development.

We started running classes at Kensington URC in September 2013 and are currently here every week during term-time on Fridays and Wednesdays.

At Perform Kensington, the Producer of the classes is Finley and the Teachers are Emily and Gurjot. The sessions are looked after by our Area Partner, Sophie.

The current term runs from 2nd September to 18th December with no sessions on 28th to 30th October (half-term).

Creative Team

We spend a lot of time recruiting, training and evaluating our wonderful Area Partners, Producers and Teachers and the team at Kensington URC in Kensington are no exception. As at all Perform schools, they have all been hand-picked for being enthusiastic, approachable and, of course, fantastic with children. As a result, you can be confident that your child is in the best of hands. Here are the details of the Creative Team at this venue:

PRODUCER
Finley - Producer
Finley
I am a Producer here at Perform. After training at Drama Studio London, I joined Perform in 2024 and, since then, it has been wonderful teaching so many children, and watching them shine and grow in confidence. Outside of Perform, I am an actor and enjoying doing exactly the sort of things the children do in our weekly workshops. Something I love about Perform is our weekly PF moment. You're never too old to join PF and go on an adventure!
TEACHER
Emily - Teacher
Emily
Helping young people grow their confidence and life skills through acting, singing and movement is one of my greatest joys. I am an actor, singer and dancer with a background in musical theatre, and hold BA in English and Theatre from UCLA and an MFA from The London Academy of Music and Dramatic Arts. I am committed and playful in my work, and find purpose inspiring young people through drama training.
TEACHER
Gurjot - Teacher
Gurjot
I've been teaching at Perform since 2024 and am always in awe of the growth in confidence these amazing kids have over the course of a term. I trained as an actor from the Royal Central School of Speech and Drama and when I'm not on stage or screen, I love teaching and facilitating fun drama workshops for kids to enjoy and grow through!
AREA PARTNER
Sophie - Area Partner
Sophie
I'm a Perform Teacher, Producer and Area Partner. I trained at the Bristol Old Vic Theatre School and alongside working for Perform have appeared in many television programmes for the BBC and Channel 4. Recently, I've been in several of the Perform shows in the West End! What I love about teaching for Perform is seeing how much children change during their time with us. It is a joy to see children having so much fun as they are learning!
