Gosia Czernik - Perform Wanstead parent

A warm welcome to Perform Wanstead at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church. We offer weekly drama, dance and singing classes for children aged 4-12 using unique songs, dances, games and exercises designed to boost child development.

We started running classes at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church in September 2005 and are currently here every week during term-time on Fridays and Thursdays.

At Perform Wanstead, the Producers of the classes are Katherine and Moya and the Teachers are Gemma, Katherine and Leo. The sessions are looked after by our Area Partner, Gemma.

The current term runs from 3rd September to 18th December with no sessions on 29th to 30th October (half-term).

How to get here and parking:

Drive via Blake Hall Road or Wanstead High Street onto Cambridge Park, where the church is situated.

There is a car park at the hall, as well as pay-and-display and permit-controlled street options situated along Cambridge Park and adjacent roads.

Wanstead station on the Central line is just a short walk away. Local buses also stop regularly along Wanstead High Street nearby.

Creative Team

We spend a lot of time recruiting, training and evaluating our wonderful Area Partners, Producers and Teachers and the team at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church in Wanstead are no exception. As at all Perform schools, they have all been hand-picked for being enthusiastic, approachable and, of course, fantastic with children. Katherine

I started working at Perform in 2012 after I gained a Masters in Acting at Mountview Academy, and I still get huge pleasure in transforming children's lives through drama after all these years. It's a highlight of my week seeing my students skip into class each week with a huge smile and take part in our end of term shows. My favourite Perform theme has to be Super Hero School because I get to wear a sparkly cape on our adventures!

PRODUCER

Moya

I've been a Producer at Perform for almost 20 years, helping children to build their confidence. My biggest passion is making children feel as confident in social situations as they do in their own living rooms. I have two children so they keep me busy and I keep them entertain with Perform games. Alongside Perform, I sing with babies and toddlers, supporting their early development through music and helping them reach important developmental milestones.

TEACHER

Katherine

I started working at Perform in 2016, and I love bringing our the best in my students through fun and laughter. I am a working actor, and have worked for Disneyland Paris and Beaches Resorts as well as regularly performing in the pantomime at the Royal Vauxhall Tavern. It is such a joy to use my skills to build the confidence of my students, and make sure that they feel safe to be their authentic selves!

TEACHER

Leo

Hello! I'm an actor who has performed in 7 different countries. When I am not on stage or on set myself, I love teaching for Perform. I joined in 2023 and have to say that every child teaches me something new. Their joy and sense of play inspire me and make my week, every week.

AREA PARTNER

Gemma

I'm one of the Perform Area Partners. I'm so lucky to meet so many wonderful Perform children when I visit different classes and watching their confidence blossom throughout their time with us. My background is musical theatre and I have performed in many different shows in the West End and in theatres around the UK. During my time in Les Miserables, I got to sing at the European football final at Wembley and the 25th anniversary concert at the O2!
