Hello and welcome to Perform Lewes at St Mary's Social Centre - a new kind of drama school that has child development at its very heart. At Perform, we use drama, dance and singing to build children's social skills and help them grow in confidence so they can fulfil their potential.

We started running classes at St Mary's Social Centre in January 2026 and are currently here every week during term-time on Tuesdays.

At Perform Lewes, the Producer of the classes is David and the Teacher is Amy. The sessions are looked after by our Area Partner, Sam.

The current term runs from 1st September to 15th December with no sessions on 27th October (half-term).

How to get here and parking:

Drive via Brighton Road (A27) or Lewes Road (A26) into Lewes, turning onto Winterbourne Lane and then onto Christie Road. St Mary's Social Centre is located along Christie Road.

Free car parking is available on site for visitors. Additional on-street parking can also be found along Christie Road and nearby residential streets.

Lewes railway station is roughly a 15-minute walk away. Local bus services stop nearby along Winterbourne Lane and Southdown Avenue.

Creative Team

We spend a lot of time recruiting, training and evaluating our wonderful Area Partners, Producers and Teachers and the team at St Mary's Social Centre in Lewes are no exception. As at all Perform schools, they have all been hand-picked for being enthusiastic, approachable and, of course, fantastic with children. As a result, you can be confident that your child is in the best of hands. Here are the details of the Creative Team at this venue:

PRODUCER

David

I've been producing and teach classes with Perform since 2020. I love to inspire children to be their most creative and confident selves, which I often aim to achieve by being the silliest person in the room myself! My favourite week of term is always show week, as I am consistently filled with pride to see the amazing things the children have achieved and how wonderfully they have progressed. Outside of Perform, I am also a piano teacher and a huge animal lover.

TEACHER

Amy

I've been teaching at Perform since September 2025 after graduating from the Royal Central School of Speech and Drama. I've always loved teaching and working with children, so it has been a real joy to work at Perform and watch young people shine. Other than teaching at Perform, I love seeing shows in the West End and my all time favourite musical is West Side Story!

AREA PARTNER

Sam

I have been with Perform since the beginning (almost)! I am an Area Partner and Producer, and love to be able to combine my passion of the performing arts and working with children. Watching their confidence and self esteem grow is the most rewarding thing, and seeing how proud parents are gives me a boost every day. At home I live with two fluffy dogs and love taking my god daughters to the theatre.
