Kadisha Tabannor - Perform Barbican parent

Welcome to Perform Barbican at Golden Lane Community Centre - dedicated to building confidence, concentration, communication and coordination using performing arts.

We started running classes at Golden Lane Community Centre in September 2013 and are currently here every week during term-time on Tuesdays.

At Perform Barbican, the Producer of the classes is Alison and the Teacher is Joy. The sessions are looked after by our Area Partner, Jade.

The current term runs from 1st September to 15th December with no sessions on 27th October (half-term).

How to get here and parking:

From central London, travel along Goswell Road, Aldersgate Street or Golden Lane, then turn onto Fann Street to reach the venue. You will see the Golden Lane housing estate, walk into the estate and the Community Centre is to the left.

On-street pay-and-display parking is available on Fann Street and Golden Lane, or use nearby paid car parks like the Barbican Centre.

Barbican Underground station is a short walk away. Nearby bus stops on Goswell Road serve routes 4, 56, and 153.

We spend a lot of time recruiting, training and evaluating our wonderful Area Partners, Producers and Teachers and the team at Golden Lane Community Centre in Barbican are no exception. As at all Perform schools, they have all been hand-picked for being enthusiastic, approachable and, of course, fantastic with children. As a result, you can be confident that your child is in the best of hands. Here are the details of the Creative Team at this venue:

PRODUCER

Alison

I've been producing classes with Perform since 2016. I have performed all over the world as a vocalist and vocal captain on cruise ships, on national tours and I have done concert work on the West End. I've also worked in TV, film, opera, and voice over. I have a degree in music and a Postgraduate Diploma in Education in music and drama education, and I adore bringing my experience and expertise to my classes each week. Nothing brings me more more joy than helping children feel more confident!

TEACHER

Joy

My name is Joy and I have been a Teacher at Perform since 2021. I love watching so many of my students grow in confidence and I am always so moved to see their progress through the terms! Playing games and singing our very catchy songs with them is my favorite part of the job, although I have really enjoyed playing a sassy French ballerina in Midnight in the Toyshop too!

AREA PARTNER

Jade

I trained in Musical Theatre at Midlands Academy Of Dance and Drama I started teaching at Perform back in 2006, and I still absolutely love it today! It's so rewarding to see every child flourish and grow in confidence term by term. I am also a Perform Area Partner, so every day brings a different job! Outside of Perform, you'll usually find me at a football pitch or scooter park watching my children play. I also enjoy reformer Pilates and trips to the theatre.
