Rebecca Lopez - Perform Sheering parent

At Perform Sheering at Sheering Village Hall, our focus is not about teaching rigorous techniques, memorisation and repetition to produce a 'perfect performance'. Instead, we use drama-based games, exercises, songs and dances in an imaginative and fun way to help boost child development.

We started running classes at Sheering Village Hall in September 2024 and are currently here every week during term-time on Fridays.

At Perform Sheering, the Producer of the classes is Andrew and the Teacher is Charley. The sessions are looked after by our Area Partner, Hannah.

The current term runs from 4th September to 18th December with no sessions on 30th October (half-term).

How to get here and parking:

When travelling by car from the London-to-Cambridge motorway (M11) at junction 7A, follow Gilden Way (B183) toward Hatfield Heath, then turn onto Sheering Road and continue onto The Street into Sheering village.

A dedicated free car park is available directly at the village hall for visitors and event attendees.

Sawbridgeworth railway station is less than two miles away. Local bus services connect Sheering with nearby Sawbridgeworth and Harlow, stopping along The Street.

We spend a lot of time recruiting, training and evaluating our wonderful Area Partners, Producers and Teachers and the team at Sheering Village Hall in Sheering are no exception. As at all Perform schools, they have all been hand-picked for being enthusiastic, approachable and, of course, fantastic with children. As a result, you can be confident that your child is in the best of hands. Here are the details of the Creative Team at this venue:

PRODUCER

Andrew

For the past 8 years, I've had the joy of helping children grow in confidence, creativity and self-belief as a Producer. I've continued performing across theatre, film and television too. I began my career as an actor training at East 15 Acting School before completing a 3 year degree course in Musical Theatre at the London College of Music. I love sharing my passion for the performing arts and helping every child shine. If you can sing, dance or act in front of an audience, you can do anything!

TEACHER

Charley

I really enjoy being able to use my skills as a performer to help kids to discover their confidence and really enjoy helping them to learn and develop their life skills each week. I love the games we play at Perform - my favourite is our introductory game 'Frogs in the Pond'! Outside of Perform I have played Ryder in Paw Patrol Live and also love spending my free time being active and playing golf.

AREA PARTNER

Hannah

I've been part of the Perform family since 2015 and work as an Area Partner and Producer. I also oversee our LAMDA classes and deliver SEN training. My favourite part of the job is making children laugh and creating a safe space where they can thrive. Outside of Perform, you'll usually find me reading, walking my dogs or learning something new. I'm particularly interested in Psychology and History!
