Alice Care - Perform Woking parent

At Perform Woking at Hoe Valley Community Building, our focus is not about teaching rigorous techniques, memorisation and repetition to produce a 'perfect performance'. Instead, we use drama-based games, exercises, songs and dances in an imaginative and fun way to help boost child development.

We started running classes at Hoe Valley Community Building in September 2013 and are currently here every week during term-time on Wednesdays.

At Perform Woking, the Producer of the classes is Paradigm and the Teacher is Rose. The sessions are looked after by our Area Partner, Sophie.

The current term runs from 2nd September to 16th December with no sessions on 28th October (half-term).

How to get here and parking:

Head south from Woking town centre along Kingfield Road (A247) or Guildford Road (A320), following signs towards Woking Park and the Leisure Centre. The venue is next to the leisure centre.

Parking is available in the main Woking Park pay-and-display car park adjacent to the building, including dedicated accessible spaces for visitors.

Woking railway station is a 15-minute walk through Woking Park, or a short ride via local bus services stopping on Kingfield Road right outside the park.

As at all Perform schools, they have all been hand-picked for being enthusiastic, approachable and, of course, fantastic with children. I absolutely love teaching at Perform! Having recently graduated from Drama Studio London, I have loved every moment of being able to share and explore my training with such wonderful young performers! When I'm not at Perform, you can catch me at the theatre or cinema, watching anything and everything, my childhood favourite being Oliver!

TEACHER

Rose

I'm a Teacher at Perform! I love using my experience and training in Musical Theatre and Dance to teach children in my classes whilst I inspire their imagination with our amazing games. A fun fact about me is that my favourite musical is Paddington, I love it!

AREA PARTNER

Sophie

I'm a Perform Teacher, Producer and Area Partner. I trained at the Bristol Old Vic Theatre School and alongside working for Perform have appeared in many television programmes for the BBC and Channel 4. Recently, I've been in several of the Perform shows in the West End! What I love about teaching for Perform is seeing how much children change during their time with us. It is a joy to see children having so much fun as they are learning!
