Zara Leach - Perform Romsey parent

A warm welcome to Perform Romsey at Abbey United Reform Church. We offer weekly drama, dance and singing classes for children aged 4-12 using unique songs, dances, games and exercises designed to boost child development.

We started running classes at Abbey United Reform Church in April 2013 and are currently here every week during term-time on Tuesdays.

At Perform Romsey, the Producer of the classes is Jack and the Teacher is Maisie. The sessions are looked after by our Area Partner, Sam.

The current term runs from 1st September to 15th December with no sessions on 27th October (half-term).

How to get here and parking:

Driving from Romsey town centre or Winchester Road (A3090), head towards the Market Place and proceed through the archway onto The Abbey, where the church hall is located.

On-site parking is limited. Nearby pay-and-display public car parks include Newton Lane Car Park, Lortemore Place Car Park, and Crosfield Hall Car Park.

Romsey railway station and Romsey bus station are both within a ten-minute walk of the venue, providing regular train and local bus connections.

We spend a lot of time recruiting, training and evaluating our wonderful Area Partners, Producers and Teachers and the team at Abbey United Reform Church in Romsey are no exception. As at all Perform schools, they have all been hand-picked for being enthusiastic, approachable and, of course, fantastic with children. PRODUCER

Jack

My name is Jack and I've been with Perform since 2020. I graduated from drama school in 2018 and I love passing on my knowledge of acting and theatre to children. I think there's no better way to build confidence than by performing and it brings me such joy seeing children find that confidence within themselves. Outside of teaching, I love to perform myself, both professionally and within the local community and I love going to theme parks.

TEACHER

Maisie

I've been teaching with perform since May 2026 and absolutely love helping children grow in confidence, spark their creativity and discover the joy of performing. As a trained performer I bring my experience from Emil Dale Academy and Italia Conti to every class. Outside of Perform, I enjoy spending time with family and friends, watching movies and musicals and travelling!

AREA PARTNER

Sam

I have been with Perform since the beginning (almost)! I am an Area Partner and Producer, and love to be able to combine my passion of the performing arts and working with children. Watching their confidence and self esteem grow is the most rewarding thing, and seeing how proud parents are gives me a boost every day. At home I live with two fluffy dogs and love taking my god daughters to the theatre.
