Kate Huxley - Perform Petersfield parent

A warm welcome to Perform Petersfield at Petersfield Methodist Church. We offer weekly drama, dance and singing classes for children aged 4-12 using unique songs, dances, games and exercises designed to boost child development.

We started running classes at Petersfield Methodist Church in September 2016 and are currently here every week during term-time on Mondays.

At Perform Petersfield, the Producer of the classes is Amber and the Teacher is Dan. The sessions are looked after by our Area Partner, Sam.

The current term runs from 7th September to 14th December with no sessions on 26th October (half-term).

How to get here and parking:

From Portsmouth Road (A3) or Winchester Road (A272), head toward Petersfield town centre and turn onto Station Road. The venue is opposite St Laurence Church and is right by a Tesco Express.

Nearby public pay-and-display options include the Swan Street car park and Petersfield station car park, both within short walking distance.

Petersfield railway station is just a few minutes' walk along Station Road. Local bus services also stop nearby along Station Road and around the town centre.

Creative Team

We spend a lot of time recruiting, training and evaluating our wonderful Area Partners, Producers and Teachers and the team at Petersfield Methodist Church in Petersfield are no exception. As at all Perform schools, they have all been hand-picked for being enthusiastic, approachable and, of course, fantastic with children. I have been working with Perform for just over a year. Teaching and producing with Perform is the highlight of my week, I love sharing the magic of theatre with my classes, while also having the pleasure of watching the children's love for theatre grow! My favourite part of the term is definitely show week, when I get to see everyone in their beautiful costumes, getting their chance to shine.

TEACHER

Dan

I graduated from Guildford School of Acting in 2022 with an MA in Musical Theatre and have some years of performing in the industry. My favourite part of Perform is the games we get to play with the kids as they bring such creativity and catch me off guard sometimes. I thoroughly enjoy the theme of Mermaids & Pirates and look forward to learning more themes in the future!

AREA PARTNER

Sam

I have been with Perform since the beginning (almost)! I am an Area Partner and Producer, and love to be able to combine my passion of the performing arts and working with children. Watching their confidence and self esteem grow is the most rewarding thing, and seeing how proud parents are gives me a boost every day. At home I live with two fluffy dogs and love taking my god daughters to the theatre.
