Welcome to Perform Newbury at St Gabriel's School - where our weekly workshops are not just about having fun. They're also about fostering vital life skills that will stay with your child forever.

We started running classes at St Gabriel's School in April 2026 and are currently here every week during term-time on Saturdays.

At Perform Newbury, the Producer of the classes is Laura and the Teacher is Michelle. The sessions are looked after by our Area Partner, Gemma.

The current term runs from 5th September to 12th December.

How to get here and parking:

Drive via Newtown Road (A339) south from Newbury town centre toward Basingstoke. The school entrance is on the left, within the historic Sandleford Priory grounds.

Visitors can use the designated on-site car park inside the grounds. Please follow signage to park in the main visitor area upon arrival.

Newbury Station is a five-minute drive away. Local bus routes run along Newtown Road, stopping directly near the school entrance.

As at all Perform schools, they have all been hand-picked for being enthusiastic, approachable and, of course, fantastic with children. Laura

I joined Perform in 2012 and love working with families to support the development of each and every child. I have a Licentiate diploma in teaching speech and drama from the Trinity and Guildhall School of Music & Drama and a PhD in actor training. I adore teaching and when I'm not teaching for Perform, you can find me teaching undergraduate drama students or tutoring pupils for LAMDA and Trinity examinations.

TEACHER

Michelle

It's been exciting to bring my training and experience from Australia to my work here at Perform. It's wonderful making theatre, music and performance accessible to so many communities. Seeing in real-time how the children's confidence and skills develop in the most fun way possible is how I like to teach and is what I find so rewarding about the job! Outside of Perform, I am an avid tennis and padel player, I enjoy to draw and write as well as traveling around the country.

AREA PARTNER

Gemma

I've been producing classes with Perform since 2011. I love using my experience as an actor to inspire and teach children. It is magical to see how much the children grow in confidence through laughter and play at Perform. Outside of Perform I am a Mum of two beautiful children and I love heading to the beach with them for a relaxing day of sun, sea and sand!
