At Perform East Village Stratford at Chobham Academy School, our focus is not about teaching rigorous techniques, memorisation and repetition to produce a 'perfect performance'. Instead, we use drama-based games, exercises, songs and dances in an imaginative and fun way to help boost child development.

We started running classes at Chobham Academy School in May 2022 and are currently here every week during term-time on Mondays and Wednesdays.

At Perform East Village Stratford, the Producers of the classes are Alison and Lucy and the Teacher is Gabrielle. The sessions are looked after by our Area Partner, Gemma.

The current term runs from 2nd September to 16th December with no sessions on 26th to 28th October (half-term).

How to get here and parking:

Drivers can reach the school in East Village by taking Westfield Avenue or Celebration Avenue off the East Cross Route (A12) or Leyton Road (A112), turning onto Cheering Lane.

There is a car park opposite the main school entrance, with payment by app.

Stratford International DLR and railway station is a short walk away, as is Stratford Underground station. Local buses stop along Cheering Lane.

PRODUCER

Alison

I've been producing classes with Perform since 2016. I have performed all over the world as a vocalist and vocal captain on cruise ships, on national tours and I have done concert work on the West End. I've also worked in TV, film, opera, and voice over. I have a degree in music and a Postgraduate Diploma in Education in music and drama education, and I adore bringing my experience and expertise to my classes each week. Nothing brings me more more joy than helping children feel more confident!

PRODUCER

Lucy

I have been producing classes at Perform since 2025, after graduating from Royal Birmingham Conservatoire. Having gone to Perform myself when I was younger, I absolutely love the work we do and it is wonderful to see the children thrive in our classes. Outside of Perform, I love going to the theatre to watch new shows!

TEACHER

Gabrielle

I've been teaching with Perform since 2026. I love working with children and seeing their self-belief and individuality grow week to week. Watching the children's confidence flourish is amazing to see. Outside of Perform, I enjoy going to the theatre to watch plays and musicals - my favourite musical is The Lion King!

AREA PARTNER

Gemma

I'm one of the Perform Area Partners. I'm so lucky to meet so many wonderful Perform children when I visit different classes and watching their confidence blossom throughout their time with us. My background is musical theatre and I have performed in many different shows in the West End and in theatres around the UK. During my time in Les Miserables, I got to sing at the European football final at Wembley and the 25th anniversary concert at the O2!
