How to play

1. Introduce the theme

Chat with the children about the superheroes they know and what special powers these superheroes might have.

Next, explain that they are going to become different superheroes using movement and action.

2. Explain the commands

Call out different superhero commands and demonstrate the matching action if needed. For example:

  • Danger! = Strike a superhero pose
  • Spider-Man = Climb an imaginary building
  • Superman = Fly around the room
  • Ant-Man = Make yourself tiny
  • Mr Incredible = Show muscles and say "Wah!"
  • Dash = Run quickly on the spot
  • Rocket Girl = Crouch down and blast off
  • The Hulk = Make yourself enormous and have a tantrum
  • Enemy's Coming = Run to a corner in fear
  • Jumping = Jump
  • Swinging = Swing
  • Crawling = Crawl
  • Running = Run

3. Start slowly

Begin by calling the commands slowly so the children can learn the actions confidently.

4. Increase the pace

Gradually speed up the game and encourage quick reactions and strong character choices.

5. Encourage performance

Remind children to use their faces, bodies, and energy to fully become each superhero.

Younger children particularly enjoy adding sound effects and exaggerated movements. You can easily adapt commands to match current superhero favourites.
