Child acting in drama class

How to play

1. Set the scene

Ask the children to stand in a circle with the grown-up in the centre.

The grown-up points to a child, who must immediately respond: "Bing, Bong, [their name]" with clear and confident pronunciation.

2. Keep up the pace

Point quickly in different directions to challenge reactions.

Gradually increase speed to test focus and attention.

3. Mistakes = sit down

If a child says the wrong order, hesitates, says the wrong name or stays silent, they sit down.

The last two standing face off to determine the winner.

What it teaches

  • Diction and vocal precision
  • Quick thinking under pressure
  • Listening and concentration
  • Confidence in front of a group

Variations to try

  • Reverse the order ("Name, Bong, Bing") to test adaptability
  • Add a movement with each word (e.g. clap, jump, point)
  • Use character voices for extra challenge

Principal's notes

This game is a huge hit in class - there's always laughter and suspense. But at its core, it teaches rapid speech control and encourages everyone to stay switched on and articulate
