How holiday courses help build confidence before the new school year

Starting a new school year can bring a mix of excitement and nerves for children and parents alike. From making new friends to feeling comfortable speaking up in class, confidence plays a huge role in helping children feel happy and settled.

That's why the summer holidays are the perfect time for a confidence boost. Holiday courses give children the chance to socialise, try new things and build self-esteem in a fun, low-pressure environment before term begins again.

At Perform, our Peter Pan holiday courses are designed to help children develop communication skills, teamwork and confidence through drama, singing and dance, all while having the best fun of the summer holidays.

Making new friends before school starts

Holiday courses are a brilliant way for children to practise meeting new people and forming friendships ahead of the new school year.

From the moment children arrive at our holiday courses, they are welcomed into the group through fun ice-breaker games designed to help everyone relax quickly. Laughter takes over, nerves disappear and friendships begin to form naturally.

As the week continues, children work together towards a full performance, learning songs, scenes and choreography as a team, which builds a real sense of camaraderie by the final show.

Building communication skills through drama

Drama is one of the most effective ways to help children communicate clearly and confidently.

Our holiday courses are led by DBS-checked teachers who are trained as professional actors, singers and dancers, creating a supportive environment where children feel comfortable speaking up, asking questions and expressing themselves.

Throughout the week, children work on their communication skills by performing scenes and speaking in front of others during our games. On show day, every child is given a line and a chance to shine on stage.

Inspiring imagination and creativity

Imaginative play is a huge part of childhood development, helping children build creativity and problem-solving skills.

A magical trip to Neverland allows children to immerse themselves in storytelling, character creation and adventure. Through a combination of acting, singing and dance, children are transported to a whole new world where they can express themselves freely.

Confidence grows through performance

Every part of our holiday course is designed to build children's confidence.

Children take part in high-energy drama games that develop their self-expression and self-esteem without them even realising. One moment, they may be silly pirates stomping across the stage and the next, they are concentrating hard in freeze games while rescuing Tinker Bell or escaping Captain Hook.

Join us in Neverland this summer

As well as developing confidence, communication skills and teamwork, our holiday courses grant children with an unforgettable week of arts & crafts, storytelling and high-energy drama games.

Throughout July and August, children aged 4-10 can join us for a Neverland adventure in one of our Peter Pan holiday courses, running across London, the South West, South East and Nottingham.
