At Perform Amersham at Chestnut Lane Primary School, our focus is not about teaching rigorous techniques, memorisation and repetition to produce a 'perfect performance'. Instead, we use drama-based games, exercises, songs and dances in an imaginative and fun way to help boost child development.

We started running classes at Chestnut Lane Primary School in October 2015 and are currently here every week during term-time on Thursdays.

At Perform Amersham, the Producer of the classes is Catherine and the Teacher is Maddy. The sessions are looked after by our Area Partner, Gemma.

The current term runs from 3rd September to 17th December with no sessions on 29th October (half-term).

How to get here and parking:

The school is located on Chestnut Lane in Amersham. Drivers can reach the area from White Lion Road (A416) or Stanley Hill (A404), turning onto Chestnut Lane.

There is no general visitor parking on-site. Visitors should park safely along Chestnut Lane and walk up the short driveway. The school car park is available for use after 3:30pm.

Amersham railway station is a 15-minute walk away. Local buses run along nearby White Lion Road, providing regular connections.

We spend a lot of time recruiting, training and evaluating our wonderful Area Partners, Producers and Teachers and the team at Chestnut Lane Primary School in Amersham are no exception. Hi, I'm Catherine, although everyone calls me Cat! I've been part of Perform since 2016, and I instantly fell in love with the fun, laughter, and the magic of teaching through theatre and imaginative play. Watching children grow in confidence, discover their creativity, and shine both on and off the stage is what inspires me every day. I love bringing characters to life to make every class exciting, memorable, and full of laughter.

TEACHER

Maddy

I became a Perform teacher after graduating from Emil Dale Academy. Not only do I love using my experience gained as an actor to teach and inspire the children, but I also love all the things I learn from them as well! Outside of Perform I love playing my bass guitar.

AREA PARTNER

Gemma

I'm one of the Perform Area Partners. I'm so lucky to meet so many wonderful Perform children when I visit different classes and watching their confidence blossom throughout their time with us. My background is musical theatre and I have performed in many different shows in the West End and in theatres around the UK. During my time in Les Miserables, I got to sing at the European football final at Wembley and the 25th anniversary concert at the O2!
