Eliza Ferguson - Perform Herne Hill parent

Hi and welcome to Perform Herne Hill at Herne Hill Baptist Church. At Perform, we're proud of our unique curriculum that harnesses the power of the performing arts to boost children's confidence and social skills.

We started running classes at Herne Hill Baptist Church in May 2018 and are currently here every week during term-time on Thursdays and Tuesdays.

At Perform Herne Hill, the Producers of the classes are Aimee and Rebecca and the Teachers are Luisa and Matthew. The sessions are looked after by our Area Partner, Oliver.

The current term runs from 1st September to 17th December with no sessions on 27th to 29th October (half-term).

How to get here and parking:

To reach the venue by car, approach from central London via Dulwich Road (A2402) or Herne Hill (A215), then turn onto Half Moon Lane near Herne Hill station. The church is on the corner of Half Moon Lane and Winterbrook Road.

There is a small carpark and street parking available.

Herne Hill railway station is a five-minute walk away. Nearby bus stops on Half Moon Lane and Herne Hill serve routes 3, 37, 68, and 196.

Creative Team

We spend a lot of time recruiting, training and evaluating our wonderful Area Partners, Producers and Teachers and the team at Herne Hill Baptist Church in Herne Hill are no exception. As at all Perform schools, they have all been hand-picked for being enthusiastic, approachable and, of course, fantastic with children. As a result, you can be confident that your child is in the best of hands. Here are the details of the Creative Team at this venue:

PRODUCER

Rebecca

I joined Perform's teaching team in 2025 after graduating as an actor musician from Rose Bruford College. I love using my experience as an actor and musician to inspire young people and enjoy seeing how much their confidence grows over a term. Outside of Perform you'll find me making music and playing my guitar.

TEACHER

Luisa

I've been with Perform since 2024. One of my favourite things about teaching is witnessing the moment when a child overcomes something they've been afraid of, like speaking in front of an audience. You can see it in their stance and facial expression how proud they are of themselves, and there is nothing like it. Outside Perform, I'm an actor and stand-up comedian.

TEACHER

Matthew

I've been teaching for Perform since 2018, in that time I've loved seeing the classes I've taught grow in confidence and performance skills. I also love getting to become all the colourful characters we meet in our adventures and games. When I'm not teaching for Perform, I work as a professional actor. My favourite time of year is Christmas when I play the Conductor on The Polar Express in Norfolk and get to spend the season hanging out with the real Santa!

AREA PARTNER

Oliver

Hi, I'm Oli! I've been with Perform since 2012 and work as an Area Partner, as well as running my own classes. Outside of Perform, I produce theatre shows and work in artist and live event management. Children have an incredible ability to find joy in the world around them, and that's one of the things I love most about my job. As an Area Partner, it's a privilege to support and develop our Teachers, helping even more children celebrate their individuality and discover what they're capable of.
