Welcome to Perform Cambridge at Hills Road Sports And Tennis Centre - dedicated to building confidence, concentration, communication and coordination using performing arts.

We started running classes at Hills Road Sports And Tennis Centre in January 2013 and are currently here every week during term-time on Wednesdays.

At Perform Cambridge, the Producer of the classes is James and the Teacher is Victoria. The schools are looked after by our Area Partner, Sophie.

The current term runs from 2nd September to 16th December with no sessions on 28th October (half-term).

How to get here and parking:

To reach the venue by car, approach via Hauxton Road (A1309) from junction 11 of the M11, turn onto Hills Road (A1307), and then turn into Purbeck Road.

Free visitor parking is available on-site in the dedicated car park off Purbeck Road.

Cambridge railway station is a ten-minute walk away. Regular buses, including the Citi 1 and Citi 7, stop directly outside on Hills Road.

We spend a lot of time recruiting, training and evaluating our wonderful Area Partners, Producers and Teachers and the team at Hills Road Sports And Tennis Centre in Cambridge are no exception. As at all Perform schools, they have all been hand-picked for being enthusiastic, approachable and, of course, fantastic with children. As a result, you can be confident that your child is in the best of hands. Here are the details of the Creative Team at this venue:

PRODUCER

James

I've been teaching with Perform since 2016: what started as a way of keeping body and soul together between theatre tours quickly developed into a passion there's no greater privilege than to facilitate and be entertained by children's endless creativity, or to see a previously reticent child suddenly find their voice. Outside of Perform, I'm a songwriter and musician. One day, I may even finish an album!

TEACHER

Victoria

I've been teaching at Perform since the start of 2025. I love working at Perform because it creates such a fun and supportive atmosphere for children to grow and develop - their progress every term always amazes me! I also love performing in productions for all the family to enjoy. My favourite role so far would have to be Cinnamon in LaplandUK, bringing the magic of Christmas to everyone!

AREA PARTNER

Sophie

I'm a Perform Teacher, Producer and Area Partner. I trained at the Bristol Old Vic Theatre School and alongside working for Perform have appeared in many television programmes for the BBC and Channel 4. Recently, I've been in several of the Perform shows in the West End! What I love about teaching for Perform is seeing how much children change during their time with us. It is a joy to see children having so much fun as they are learning!

We still cannot quite believe our son's response and reaction to Perform. The fact that on his second visit he asked to walk into the class independently is testament to James and the team and how comfortable and confident they have made him feel.
