Each term at Perform X, we put together a specially choreographed dance that combines the techniques we've been working on with a reinvented story. This term we're working on a spectacular street dance based on Oliver Twist.
Meet Oli T, a poor orphan slaving away in Mr Bumble’s cruel workhouse. With the simple words ‘Can I have some more?’ he finds himself cast out to the mean streets of Victorian London. Together with talented girl rapper, Charley, and the cheeky Artful D, Oli joins bad boy Fagin and his band of hip hop thieves. But disaster strikes when he is arrested for a crime he didn't commit. Can Oli dance his way out of trouble and will Mr. Brownlow help him find the happiness he deserves?
This modern take on the gritty classic takes a good hard look at society and asks, ‘Don’cha think it’s kinda twisted?’
