With quick attacks and swift dodges, the children learn to anticipate, react and stay balanced in a fun and energetic way.
1. Form a circle
Ask the children to stand in a circle and explain that when you count to three and shout "Ninja," everyone must freeze in a ninja pose with hands raised and accessible.
2. Attack and defend
Starting with you, each person takes a turn to make one swift movement to try to tap the hand of the person next to them. The target may move once, using only their upper body to avoid being tapped.
3. Out rules
If a player moves their feet, they are out. If they are successfully tapped on the hand, they sit down.
4. Regroup and continue
Everyone then regroups into a circle, strikes a new ninja pose and play continues. If the target avoids being tapped, they hold their pose, and it becomes their turn to attack.
5. Play to the end
Continue around the circle until only two children remain. These final two are the winners.
This game demands intense concentration and physical control. Children quickly learn the importance of stillness, precision and patience, making it a brilliant exercise for focus and discipline.
