Holiday Courses in Drama, Dance and Singing

Hear what children say about our holiday courses

Make the holidays even more fun with a Perform holiday course

You can banish the familiar school holiday cry of 'I'm bored' with our unique holiday courses for 4-10s.

Your child will work alongside an energetic team of theatre professionals combining original music, dance and improvisation into a magical mini-performance with colourful costumes and props on the last day.

There are different holiday workshops every school holiday including February half-term, Easter, Summer, October half-term and Christmas and they range in duration from three to five days. Recent themes have included Peter Pan, Narnia, The Jungle Book, Rapunzel, Hansel & Gretel, Mermaids & Pirates and The Wizard Of Oz.

What happens in a Perform holiday course?

Our team of professional singers, dancers and actors will spark the children's imaginations as they bring classic stories to life with lots of fun, games and laughter. They'll be with them every step of the way to inspire and encourage them to project their voices, learn energetic dance routines, sing catchy songs, and develop the Perform 4 Cs: ConfidenceConcentration,  Communication and Coordination.

At the end of every holiday course, the children will put on a show-stopping performance to delight family and friends complete with imaginative costumes and original songs. They'll also get a personalised certificate to celebrate everything they've achieved.

Our holiday courses deliver an absorbing and fun experience for children and we often hear that it was their favourite activity. But don't take our word for it - read what parents say.

Course structure

Over 3-5 days, activities are broadly divided into three parts, each focusing on a different performing arts discipline.

This includes a series of drama-based games and exercises to boost confidence such as focus work, character communication and vocal projection. The Producer will also progress to more detailed performance notes on areas such as character, physicality and accents. This session will really help to improve children’s attention at school as it develops concentration, imagination and speaking skills in a fun and imaginative way.

This starts with an energetic and fun group of exercises designed to inspire the imagination, develop coordination and reduce the chance of injury. The choreographer will then progress to technical work on physical skills and detailed stylistic notes. All the activities in this section focus on the children developing good coordination, balance and core stability as they grow. They'll also enjoy greater self-assurance, improved posture and confidence to participate in physical activities.

This aims to increase the flexibility of the vocal cords, develop basic musical reading and improve articulation and projection while maintaining good technique. The small groups allow most children to have solo or featured roles if they wish. Fun engaging topics and a humorous approach means this section is ideal for boosting children’s confidence, concentration and communication skills, all while establishing focus within the group and giving shy children a chance to shine.

This Easter, we'll be venturing into the spooky wood and exploring the Palace of Dreams as we tell the story of how Beauty met the Beast. Join us for our 3-day courses this April. Click below to find out more.

We are also running our hugely popular One Week Wonders which give children a daily online adventure into one of six magical themes for 4-7s and 7-12s. For one hour a day over 4 or 5 days, the children might meet a Perfect Princess, go on a Superhero Mission or simply trip the Dance Fantastic. Click here for more information.

Grant was amazing. He engaged the children so well and my son looked forward to the class every day. I would 100% recommend this course. With isolation rules, it is perfect for keeping children active and happy.

– Ms Maria Diz Monreal

Sophia LOVED every minute of it and it has worked wonders with her confidence. I will be recommending Perform to all I speak with.

– Sara Pengelly

The teachers were so fantastic with the kids. I’ve rarely seen such enthusiasm and energy of that quality from people working with younger children. They really made it for Henry. He was so excited to go off every day. He loved the songs and the acting and how funny the teachers were.

– Ms Michelle Springer

Everything about this was excellent. Amy loved all of it. It kept her interest all week and even though it was only an hour a day it was the undoubted highlight of her half term. Thank you!

– Sarah Mccann

Very enjoyable. The girls loved the course and got so much out of it. The show was fantastic.

– Mr Richard Mcallister

Chloe and her team were incredibly engaging and supportive - thank you so much!

– Ms Grace Ainley

I always look forward to Perform holiday courses as the shows are brilliant and my children love preparing for them. The Secret Garden was no exception. It's rare to find a holiday club both my son and daughter enjoy but they always come out of Perform excited and happy.

– Mrs Anushka Cross

Another great Perform experience that provided a great show and lots of new skills during the week.

– Vanessa Bird

Thank you to Katie for her personal attention - my daughter absolutely loved the holiday course and is looking forward to the next one!

– Mrs Priyanka Sethi

Perform was the best part of my kids summer experience in London. My children learned improvisation, diction, exaggeration and various other elements of theatre skills. Robyn and Mathew were like a dream as they made the kids have fun.

– Mrs Swati Agarwal
