Autumn 2024 - Blast Off like a Rocket

An exhilarating drama adventure through Outer Space

From September to December 2024 we are offering FREE educational drama workshops to selected primary schools as part of our popular Drama4ALL project.

Each 30 minute session is led by a professionally trained DBS-checked actor/drama teacher in costume appearing 'in role' as kooky character The Little Green Alien. Using drama, dance and singing, they'll take the children on a fascinating, improvisational exploration through Outer Space!

Having completed some energetic astronaut training, the children will board a spaceship and visit Pluto, Venus and Mars learning about their physical environments with a little help from the cheese-chomping Man in the Moon!

These creative learning workshops are ideal as an introduction to the performing arts or as a fun treat for the children.

These workshops will:

  • Provide invaluable cultural capital from participating in an enriching drama workshop.
  • Encourage confident speaking and good listening using rhyme and poetry.
  • An excellent stimulus for creative writing, an art project, role play... the possibilities are endless!
  • Complement an Outer Space topic or books you may be reading, such as Look Up, Goodnight Spaceman, Man On The Moon and You Can't Eat a Princess!
  • Boost confidence, communication, concentration and coordination.

Specially formulated to enhance the children's imaginations ready for scientific exploration and new discoveries, these workshops aim to develop confidence and communication skills for Reception through to Year 3.

These workshops are extremely popular and are booked on a first come, first served basis.

Rhia was amazing! As a teacher I found her inspiring and my class loved the session. They were very engaged and her group control strategies were very effective. The subject matter was spot on as we are currently looking at 'castles.'
