Whether casting spells with the witches of Macbeth, stepping into the enchanted forest of A Midsummer Night's Dream, or navigating feuds and first love in Romeo and Juliet, our workshops make Shakespeare's world feel real, relevant and alive in the classroom.

A Midsummer Night's Dream

Step into Shakespeare's enchanted forest and bring his most magical comedy to life! In this fast-paced, imaginative workshop, children will meet mischievous fairies, confused lovers, and over-the-top actors, all while exploring the themes of love, jealousy and transformation.

This fun, interactive journey makes Shakespeare's language and storytelling accessible, exciting, and memorable for KS2 learners. Children will:

  • Act out key scenes and characters from the play through storytelling, freeze frames and role-play
  • Explore stagecraft, Shakespearean language and iambic pentameter through games and movement
  • Build confidence by performing in character and answering questions in the 'hot seat'
  • Create and perform adverts for A Midsummer Night's Dream using what they've learned

Learning objectives:

  • To understand the plot and themes of A Midsummer Night's Dream
  • To recognise key features of Shakespeare's plays including comedy, verse and character types
  • To develop performance and speaking skills through drama and improvisation

Macbeth

An electrifying drama workshop where children step into the world of one of Shakespeare's most thrilling tragedies. Packed with witches, battles, ambition and betrayal, this high-energy session brings the story of Macbeth to life.

With exciting stage games, dramatic storytelling, and Shakespearean performance techniques, students will discover just how powerful words and actions can be. Through interactive drama, children will:

  • Explore the story of Macbeth through physical storytelling and role-play
  • Discover Shakespeare's language and iambic pentameter in a fun and accessible way
  • Learn about stage directions and how actors bring text to life
  • Work together to perform scenes and trailers from the play

Romeo & Juliet

Experience the passion, rivalry, and tragedy of Romeo & Juliet in this high-energy, interactive drama workshop. Packed with character play, dramatic stage games and a gripping retelling of the world's most famous love story.

Children will step into Shakespeare's shoes to discover the power of storytelling and theatre. Children will:

  • Explore the key characters and plot of Romeo & Juliet through freeze frames, hot seating and storytelling
  • Learn about Shakespeare's life, his use of iambic pentameter, and the Globe Theatre
  • Participate in a high-energy stage game and explore Shakespearean genres (comedy, tragedy, history)
  • Create their own adaptation ideas and present them in mini-performance adverts

Learning objectives:

  • Understand the story, characters, and themes of Romeo & Juliet
  • Explore Shakespearean language and iambic pentameter
  • Develop speaking, listening, and performance skills through structured drama activities
