From investigating animals and plants to exploring forces, materials and the seasons, these interactive workshops turn questions into adventures- encouraging children to observe, experiment and think like young scientists through play and imagination.

Dinosaurs

Travel back in time with Polly or Percy the Palaeontologist and uncover the amazing world of dinosaurs! This adventure-filled workshop takes children on a journey to the Mesozoic era where they'll meet stomping stegosaurs, roaring T-Rexes and sneaky velociraptors.

Packed with movement, music, and imagination, it's a dino-sized expedition children won't forget. Through interactive drama, children will:

  • Step into the role of a time-travelling palaeontologist to discover how dinosaurs lived
  • Learn the differences between herbivores, carnivores and omnivores through games and storytelling
  • Explore dinosaur habitats using movement, song and role-play
  • Create and describe their own dinosaur character through imaginative play

Learning objectives:

  • To explore dinosaur facts through role-play and guided movement
  • To develop listening, recall and vocabulary linked to science and history
  • To build confidence speaking and performing in front of others

Discover Your Body

Join Dr. Fitheart on a high-energy, fact-packed adventure inside the human body! In this imaginative workshop, children become researchers, dancers and scientists as they explore muscles, bones, senses and more.

Through drama, music and movement, they'll discover just how amazing their bodies really are and how to keep them strong and healthy. Children will:

  • Learn about the brain, lungs, heart and other vital organs through movement and roleplay
  • Play high-energy games to understand the five senses and how messages travel to the brain
  • Dance, stretch and sing their way through body systems with original songs and commands
  • Build awareness of healthy choices through creative discussion and imaginative activities

Learning objectives:

  • Understand the basic functions of major body parts and organs
  • Recognise the importance of healthy habits such as exercise, sleep, and hydration
  • Develop confidence in physical expression and teamwork

Light & Sound

A high-energy, theatrical adventure through the science of seeing and hearing! Children take centre stage as they discover how light travels, how shadows are formed and what really goes on inside our eyes and ears.

This drama-packed session brings tricky science topics to life in an unforgettable way. Through interactive drama, children will:

  • Strike poses 'in the limelight' and explore natural vs. man-made light sources
  • Act out how light travels from source to eye through fun physical theatre
  • Create soundscapes and test vocal projection using dramatic voicework
  • Take part in a physical 'ear assault course' showing how we hear sound

  • Identify and describe how light and sound are produced and travel
  • Understand how the eye and ear function to help us see and hear
  • Use drama techniques to explore and explain scientific processes

Magic Materials

Step into the wild and wonderful lab of Dr. Cloth, a forgetful but friendly scientist on a mission to write the greatest book ever written about materials!

With the help of your young scientists, this workshop explores how everyday objects are made and how materials behave, through imaginative drama, music, and playful roleplay. Children will:

  • Explore and identify a variety of materials and their properties through movement and storytelling
  • Take part in physical games to categorise, compare and test materials
  • Learn how some materials change when heated or cooled
  • Embody characters and build imaginative scenes from stories like The Three Little Pigs

What's in My Garden?

Step into a magical garden filled with wriggling worms, buzzing bees and colourful flowers! In this playful and educational drama workshop, children become curious gardeners, transforming into seeds, insects and plants as they explore the wonders beneath our feet.

Expect muddy adventures, creepy crawlies, and lots of imaginative fun. Children will:

  • Discover the lifecycles of plants through movement and role play
  • Learn about minibeasts and their garden habitats
  • Buzz, crawl, leap and chirp like insects in a fun-filled physical warm-up
  • Embark on a garden adventure using sensory exploration and improvisation

Calling all eco-heroes! In this high-energy drama workshop, children are recruited by our Eco leader to become planet-protecting superheroes.

From battling greenhouse gases to saving the seas, young learners will discover how everyday choices can help protect our Earth. Through interactive drama, children will:

  • Train as eco-warriors through superhero warm-ups and character-based games
  • Explore major environmental topics including energy, waste, water and biodiversity
  • Use physical storytelling to understand the impact of climate change and pollution
  • Take on challenges like the 'Food Waste Line-Up' and 'Ocean Detangle' to solve real-world eco-problems
