Things to do with your kids this summer

Make a summer holiday playlist

With more time for music at home during school holidays (no rushed breakfasts or evening homework), why not create a holiday playlist where each family member gets to choose their favourite summer songs. You may find this also builds skills in tolerance and negotiation!

Book a family festival

As nation-lovers of music and entertainment with sunshine, rain and wellies, there are plenty for both kids and adults. Perform in the Park is London's first ever festival of children's theatre. We're building a 500 seat air-conditioned theatre in Coram's Fields, Bloomsbury and showing live performances all day every day from 22nd July - 28th August. There are four fantastic children's shows to see and an Evenings in the Park with... series featuring Q&A's celebrity guests, plus wood-fired pizzas, ice-creams and the playgrounds, sandpits and paddling pool of Coram's Fields so you can make a day of it. Buy tickets and find out more here.

Be a tourist in your hometown

It’s easy to disregard tourist attractions in the place where you live but we can get so much out of them. So, why not book that river boat cruise or city bus tour; join a local guided walk or do a treasure trail – you’ll be surprised at how much the kids enjoy it.

Take fun to new heights at Clip 'n Climb

Clip 'n Climb is a crazy climbing attraction that is high energy, sometimes terrifying but most of all a lot of fun. Kid's absolutely love it and it's a great way to tire them out when the lack of school routine has them bouncing off the walls during the summer!

Head down to the farm

Take a respite from the strains of urban life and have a wholesome day feeding chickens and stroking bunnies at your local farm. There are so many in and around London to choose from such as Deen City Farm, Kentish Town City Farm, Stepney City Farm or Bocketts Farm Park.

See a show

There is so much choice for children in terms of theatre at the moment and, with the annual Kids Go Free Week returning to top London shows this August, now is a great time to book. With discounts on shows like Matilda or The Lion King as well as shows performing at Perform in the Park, it’s worth the trip.
