Autumn 2021 - Outer Space
From September to December 2021, Perform for Schools is offering drama-based workshops to primary schools as part of our popular Drama4All project.
Each 30 minute session is led by a professionally trained DBS-checked actor in costume appearing 'in role' as kooky character The Little Green Alien. Using drama, dance and singing, they'll take the children through a fascinating improvisation through Outer Space.
Having completed some energetic astronaut training, the children will board a spaceship and visit planets Pluto, Venus and Mars learning about their physical environments with a little help from the cheese-chomping Man in the Moon.
Our sessions will:
- Complement an Outer Space topic or books you may be reading, such as Look Up, Goodnight Spaceman, Man On The Moon and You Can't Eat a Princess!
- Provide an excellent stimulus for creative writing, an art project, role play... the possibilities are endless!
- Encourage confident speaking and good listening using rhyme and poetry.
- Be facilitated whilst meeting Covid-Safe guidelines.
They are a perfect introduction to drama for Nursery and Reception children, whilst challenging the KS1 children with a more advanced lesson plan. At the heart of every session we aim to promote confidence and communication skills. which is Perform's ethos.
Each 30 minute workshop is led by a DBS-checked teacher and is specially formulated for children in Nursery, Reception, Year 1 and Year 2.
We will come to your school and spend around 30 minutes with each class, ideally in the school hall.
These workshops are extremely popular and are booked on a first come first served basis. To book your school's FREE Outer Space workshop, complete our online booking form.
