Now showing CONFIDENCE

Unlike traditional drama schools, Perform's core mission is to empower children through the performing arts. Our unique drama classes for 7-12 year olds equip them with the essential abilities they need to thrive in all areas of life.

As children grow, the classes focus on refining and expanding their social skills, preparing them for the complexities of social interactions and leadership roles.

Class Structure

Acting & improvising

Our acting classes include a series of drama-based games and exercises to boost confidence, such as focus work, character communication and vocal projection. The Producer will also progress to more detailed performance notes on areas such as character, physicality and accents. This will significantly improve children's attention at school as it develops concentration, imagination and speaking skills in a fun and imaginative way.

Movement & dance

Movement & dance starts with energetic and fun group exercises designed to inspire the imagination, develop coordination and reduce the chance of injury. The choreographer then progresses to technical work on physical skills and detailed stylistic notes. All the activities in this section focus on the children developing good coordination, balance and core stability as they grow. They'll also enjoy greater self-assurance, improved posture and confidence to participate in physical activities.

Speech & singing

Our speech & singing classes aim to increase the flexibility of the vocal cords, develop basic musical reading and improve articulation and projection while maintaining good technique. Small groups allow most children to have solo or featured roles if they wish. Fun, engaging topics and a humorous approach make this section ideal for boosting children's confidence, concentration and communication skills, all while establishing focus within the group and giving shy children a chance to shine.

This term's theme

Every night on the dark streets of London, Vampire and Werewolf gangs fight an ancient turf war that's spiralling out of control. Can the friendship between Rome and Jewels resolve the feud and bring harmony back to the urban underworld?

The Perform 4 Cs

Our unique curriculum is designed around what we call "The 4 Cs" - Confidence, Concentration, Communication and Coordination. We believe these core areas are essential for personal and academic success so we weave them into every activity we do.

Communication

Our curriculum emphasises articulation and clarity, key for effective communication. By focusing on how to improve kids' communication, we help children develop the skills they need to express themselves clearly and confidently.

Coordination

Coordination, posture and poise are nurtured through creative physical expression promoting physical health and fitness. Dance routines and exercises support coordination and body awareness, fostering confidence and grace.

Confidence

The Acting & Improvisation segment builds a strong presence, leadership, and public speaking skills in a supportive setting. These confidence workshops for children are designed to help them become more self-assured, both in and out of the classroom.

Concentration

Activities like learning lines and practising dance moves require focus, aiding in the development of this critical skill. By integrating concentration challenges into our curriculum, we effectively improve kids' concentration through enjoyable and dynamic exercises.

My daughter Amira absolutely loves attending Perform! She is so enthusiastic and her confidence has grown. The teachers are so amazing with the children. Amira has tried so many other drama classes previously, but Perform is by far the best!

It's mind-blowing how happy and confident Grace is. Jamie, the Producer, is incredible and so professional. It's just so good to see individuals come into their own and flourish.

There is no other club Sam enjoys going to more. He can't wait to go in and always comes out buzzing. He struggles at school academically and often feels left behind. Perform provides the perfect neutral space for him to be himself and just have fun!

Max and Elsie-Mae love coming to Perform each week. They both sing the songs they have been learning and practise their lines daily. I have noticed Elsie-Mae is becoming so much more confident. Both talk non-stop about their time at Perform.
