This game is perfect for helping your child distinguish between pretend and reality. At Perform we know that children love imaginative play, and it's something which you can also engage your child in at home.
Take an everyday object - e.g. a cardboard box, and take it turns with your child to imagine that the box is something else - e.g. a rowing boat in the middle of the sea, a hat, a chair, a giant's shoe - the possibilities are endless.
Taking part in imaginative games may feel a little strange at first, but the more you play along, the easier it gets, and the sillier you are, the more your child will laugh; and, as every parent knows, there's no better sound in the world.
