Free Mermaids & Pirates Drama Workshops for Foundation and KS1
From April to July 2012, we are offering FREE performing arts-based sessions to selected primary schools as part of our popular Drama4ALL project.
Each 25 minute workshop is led by an experienced actor/drama teacher appearing 'in role' as Pirate Jenny. Using drama, dance, singing and improvisation, Pirate Jenny will take the children on a thrilling voyage through the high seas to discover the world famous Sacred Coconut.
Boarding the magnificent vessel, The Jammy Dodger, the children will set sail to a world of lush sandy beaches, dense jungly undergrowth and Caribbean-infused rhythms before rescuing The Sacred Coconut from the clutches of the dastardly Long Gone Silver.
Incorporating fun-packed games, singing and colourful improvisations, these lively and energetic sessions are sure to enthrall and inspire your children, stimulating them physically and creatively and leaving them feeding back enthusiastically afterwards.
Especially formulated for Reception, Year 1 and Year 2 children, these workshops are ideal as an introduction to the performing arts or as a fun treat during the school term.
