Summer 2017 - Wild West

During the Summer Term 2017, Perform will be running free interactive drama workshops for EYFS & KS1.

These performing-arts based sessions are led by an experienced DBS-checked actor appearing in role as rip-roaring cowboy/cowgirl 'Sheriff Billy'.

Using story-telling, role-play, song and movement, Sheriff Billy will take the children on a journey across the majestic plains of North America following smoke signals to find the Horse with the Golden Mane.

As well as introducing the children to the excitement of live improvised performance, the educational aims of the workshop are to:

  • Enhance vocal projection and listening skills through rhyme and poetry
  • Promote fitness and dance by learning a traditional Wild West hoedown
  • Learn about some of the philosophies and rituals of Native American customs and traditions.

Each workshop is 25 minutes long and is adapted for the different age ranges. Sessions require the school hall or a large classroom.
