About Perform

Perform is a new type of children’s drama school. Dedicated to helping young minds and bodies grow, our philosophy is to put child development at the heart of everything we do.

We were founded by Lucy Quick and Will Barnett in January 2000 to provide performing arts workshops exclusively for 4 to 8 year olds, promoting confidence, imagination and fun.

Lucy had worked at other drama schools and believed that we could provide more structured, safer and higher quality classes. These would have a greater emphasis on child development and use high quality creative resources specially created for the workshops. At other schools, classes for younger children tended to be an afterthought. At Perform, all the games and exercises were to be specifically designed for 4 to 8 year olds.

Since we started out in January 2000 with just two schools in Primrose Hill and Islington, high demand and the popularity of the courses have enabled us to open dozens more venues across London and the South-East. We currently run almost 200 schools including Mini Ps activity classes  for toddlers and Perform Plus for 8-12s. With these Weekly Workshops at the core, we have been able to build a growing range of other products and services.

Currently about 3,500 children attend Perform each week.
